Martin Jane, Sales Director

Martin joined Seven Telematics as a Key Account Manager after establishing himself as a leading figure in the temperature-controlled distribution industry. His previous role in sales was with one of the UK’s leading builders of refrigerated trailers and rigid bodies. Martin’s initial decision to join Seven Telematics was inspired by being able to move into a new and growing sector.

“I was excited by the opportunity to go into a different part of the industry. The big advantage of that was having to really think about what I was selling and the benefits to the customer and how that would fit with current and existing clients. I’ve always sold on a consultative basis, so not selling one-size-fits-all products but finding a product that suits each customer. Every customer we talk to has slightly different requirements. I’m learning something new every day which is always exciting”.

With the move of Michael Kane to pastures new, Martin was promoted into the role of Sales Director at Seven Telematics at the start of 2019. Martin recognises that, having known Michael for more than 20 years, he has big shoes to fill.

“My main goal right now is to build on the excellent work of the company and to keep driving the business forward. Being new to the sector is helping me to look at things in a different way and take some fresh approaches to hopefully enable us to grow. The one area that we’re really focusing on is customer service. We already offer a superb standard of customer service, but we want to build on that, it’s an ongoing focus. We do a lot of business in Europe and we want to carry on doing so, it’s where we see a huge potential for growth.

We are incredibly busy at Seven Telematics due to the amount going on in the refrigerated transport industry at the moment and we need to get everything in place to make sure we keep as much momentum going as we can”.

For Martin, working within a supportive team is an important aspect of working at Seven Telematics.

“I’ve really enjoyed getting to know everyone in the business. Everybody’s very professional and we’re always looking out for each other.  We’ve all got one goal and that is to provide outstanding customer service”.
