Dennis Distribution based in Malton, North Yorkshire can be very proud of their achievements. Currently operating a modern fleet of 40 tractor units and 70 refrigerated trailers, Dennis Distribution have continued to be successful in the temperature controlled environment despite the constraints and pressures facing any business in recent times.
The road transport industry as we all know, is an exceptionally challenging market sector. Dennis Distribution have a particular pedigree in this sector stretching all the way back to 1890.
T & A Dennis was formed as a partnership by Tom and Ann Dennis in November 1958 which was born out of the family haulage firm J D Dennis and Sons, established by Tom’s father in 1890.
Dennis Distribution evolved into temperature controlled transportation in 1970. This saw an introduction to Malton Bacon Factory with regular deliveries of bacon in hessian sacks to the West Riding of Yorkshire and Lancashire. This move saw the purchase and introduction of refrigerated containers into the previously dry freight fleet.
1990 saw the purchase of the present site on York Road Industrial Estate and the erection of purpose built workshop and offices and a period of significant growth ensued.
This all gives Dennis Distribution a great foundation as a business and enables them to lead with “best practice” techniques that regularly serve such prestigious customers such as Dovecote Park, BHJ UK Foods and Meadow Foods.
Dennis Distribution have an excellent history in making the right choices and are a long established customer of TranScan temperature recording equipment, providing local temperature monitoring and recording upon the trailer. Their most recent innovation is to fit their entire fleet of refrigerated trailers with the SevenEye remote temperature monitoring, recording and GPS trailer tracking systems from Seven Telematics. Seven Telematics are supplying the Cooltrack system which connects the TranScan temperature recorders to the Web providing live, real-time temperature data and remote alerts, deliverable by SMS and e-mail to designated recipients should a rare breach of the required temperature range occur.
