The Low Emission Zone was introduced in 2008 to try and reduce the emissions and quantity of high polluting heavy diesel vehicles in London. The LEZ covers most of Greater London and vehicles must meet specific emission requirements to drive within it without incurring a daily charge.
The Low emission standards are set to become more stringent on January 3rd 2012. It is therefore more important than ever for an operator to be aware of the locality of their fleet in and around the area of Greater London.
The Low Emissions Zone operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year, including weekends and bank holidays.
The most recent addition to Seven Telematics Seven Eye tracking portal is the inclusion of the Low Emission Zone Alert. When the alert is applied to any given tracked asset, notification can be sent via email or SMS when an asset breaches a Low Emission Zone boundary. This operates in an almost identical fashion to highly popular Congestion Zone Alert already available on the Seven Eye tracking domain.
Failure to pay the low emission charge by midnight on the next working day after the first day of travel , can result in a Penalty Charge Notice of up to £1,000 being issued.
Seven Telematics Low Emission Zone email and SMS alerts aim to streamline the monitoring of fleet locality within and around the area of Greater London, providing prompt notifications when a vehicle has entered the chargeable boundaries.
Please contact our sales team now for more information regarding the full reporting and alert suite offered by the Seven Eye tracking domain.Tel. 01636 642 891 / email: sales@seventelematics.co.uk
